At Realityloop we've found Ægir to be a major time saver and great tool for deplying Drupal websites, so several months ago we started on the path to get Aegir running locally on our Mac's for development purposes, with one caveat.. using NGINX instead of Apache!

Without further ado here is how to do it both by Video and Text instructions, please follow the instructions carefully as this process has been refined to make the process as painless as possible. Yes, this works on both Lion and Snow Leopard.

Drupal based theme for LimeChat

The other day while in #drupal-au we were discussing IRC clients, and tanc mentioned a free OS X client called LimeChat, so last night I tried it out but promptly went looking for a better theme.

My search lead me to a theme called Limelight which is quite nice, but I thought I'd customise it for the Drupal crowd. So here is Limelight Drupal for any Drupalers using LimeChat to download.

Holy Grail of OS X Sync: iCal & Address Book <-> Google Calendar & Gmail Contacts

One problem I've always had with Google services was the difficulty synchronizing them with my desktop applications.

When I was using windows I managed to get a calendar sync using Rainlendar which also works on OS X although it doesn't give you 2way sync with iCal, and incidentally doesn't play that well with PathFinder's Desktop.
